    A little scary for me!

Okay, this is a lot scary for me because I am not one to invite criticism (constructive or otherwise) upon myself. I am just so damn thin skinned. So PLEASE be gentle... I really want some honest input, so here goes. I have created a business card without any real input from anyone with marketing or graphic expertise. I just went with my gut. I am looking for opinions mostly on the graphic I chose (It is not a logo- just for impact) I would use it on other marketing materials also. Without explaining my thought processes behind it - just trying to get some first impressions. So I'm putting this out there to all of you and hoping you'll take a minute to tell me what you think.

Sherrie... I think you've done well. Clean, precise, clear and to the point. Your pic and slogan work well together.

I wouldn't change a thing... I APPLAUD your using credentials properly. Master, Clinical, Therapist and Dr. that are on many websites and cards are made up or through some weekend course. The organization that certifies you gives the credentials. My "Certified Hypnotherapist" credential from the NGH is now given as "Certified Counseling Hypnotist" and ther NGH has gfood reason to change from the hypnotherapist word due to hypnotism's growing popularity... and scrutiny.

Everything else open us up for attack. What the hell is a Master Clinical Board Certified Hypnotist? It is a Board Certified Hypnotist credential yet people elaborate. Read my article in the latest NGH Journal Of Hypnotism

And man you got to get over that thin skinned bit. There are hypnotists that can help with that. : )

There are people.. hmm, like me for example, who don't have the time or character to sugar coat and are to the point. No ill intent, just clearing through the BS and being efficient with time and delivery.

Sometimes when we feel we're getting "beat up" we're really not. Usually whatever someone else makes us feel has nothing to do with them but with us.

Anyway, just a friendly tip as you proceed in your career...

    Hi Sherrie,

This picture is adorable! It is also very unusual...that makes it very eyecatching and irresistable to the curious.

Your card is wonderfully succinct in words but delivers the message in full. (visually delivers it, too, with the butterfly baby). I very much like the "Dare to emerge" line.

Looks to me like you got a good one.

    Good luck!

It's simple and clean, good job (esp. if you don't have graphics experience). I would make the fonts more consistent, and lay out the fields so that they line up a bit more. What is the purpose of the quotes around "a powerful tool for change"? When I see that, I wonder, who is this quote from? I'm not a big fan of babies, it's cute and everything, but the first thing I wonder when seeing the picture is "Is this something for babies?" Just my weird opinion of course. Nice job overall though!

    I love it!

it is adorable, to the point and eye catching.

I agree with Tom, get past being thin skinned, because that will leave the opportunity for the "prove you can hypnotize me" client to take over the session. Focus on your integrity, your value and even your mission statement.

By the way, I'm preaching to myself as I write this to you!

    Hi Sherrie,

Nice design, one question: Are you also using the back of the card to place a list of the services you provide etc? It may cost you more to print but it's valuable advertising space. Especially when it's your successful clients that will be passing them on to potential clients. It's good to have details of the services that you provide on your card.

Just to let you know, and others, of a print service that produces some hypnosis related business cards. Check out some of the designs for ideas!

    Hope this helps!
